O&B

Summer has been a tad boring. It start out not so great with a trip to Vancouver which was great until I came down with a terrible cold!!! May was slow my lack of work and money paid play dates limited. Now its June and I have a JOB!!

I work at Malaparte and Board of Trade event venues of O&B, for those who do not know O&B they are one of most Fabulous & upscale restraints in Toronto.
My shift was Tourism Toronto with a Fabulous Indian themed event lime green and bright fuchsia filled the ballroom and patio in the forms of flowers and drapes. It reminded me of a dress I made once that was one of my fav's pieces. Then at the end of night we even got to take home mini bouquets and guess what? Little Bruce Smithsteen did not eat this one. Yay

Imagine a patio and ballroom in those colors!

Next I was BOT for Portugal Day! Which was amazing because I friend that is Portuguese I know Brasilian food but have not had much Portuguese food which was cool. We all sat down to after the guest had cleared out to eat our staff meal. How Cordial. Then the team headed out for drinks!! My first time out drinking with colleagues it reminded me of when I used to watch Grey's Anatomy and they would all go to the bar after work.

Onto saturday my absolutely favorite event to date. Even though I have only worked three. Are you ready for this it was a french wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where to begin............. we can start with I thought work started at 5 but got an email asking me to come in for 2 and I was reading it at 1 in my PJ's. Oh and apparently I was supposed to be there at 4, well I booked it work and made it for 2. Now the wedding..........

The decor: Lavender on the tables and muted toned bouquets C'est Parfait! Then on the patio a trio of three musicians could not even tell you what instruments they were playing I was very into my work but it was so french sounding I wanted to dance. Turns out it is a style called Gypsy Jazz and you can listen to it on saturdays at communist daughter one of T-dot best hipster bars. Well you all know were to find me next saturday. As I was clearing dishes I could a mix of french and english throughout the room I could not help but smile. Now the reception and speaks time each one was done in French & English. I decided I wanted my wedding my to be like that I have never been one of those girls to plan out their weddings. Maybe design a couple of wedding dresses here and there but I have been open to the idea of any wedding setting with any man. Not now French anything is tres tres more fabulous!!! What else well they had French macrons for party favors and there first dance was to "come what may" from Moulin Rouge. Love Love Love it.

All in all a good night and I was working. Thats all for now.

Comical Grocery Store Stories

So last sunday I was at wal-mart picking up some things for the week. I know wal-mart but it was later in the day like 6 ish 7 and my other grocery store was closed. I'm in the produce dept. and this lady comes up to me speaking spanish from the little espanol I understand she was asking me if i could speak spanish. I told Para Nade which mean for nothing or its nothing. Then she starts rambling in spanish I guess she thought I meant espanol is nothing to moi, like I know that language inside and out Para Nada!  Two seconds later over walks her son who start translating why didn't she wait until he got there? DUH.

There I am still in produce trying to pick a desent Yam (sweet potato) and this guy walks over god do I look like I work here? When I turn around he "oh sorry I thought you were my friend but you are much to young" it that a compliment? Do I look tres old from the side/back?

Now its this sunday I'm in WF (whole foods) I'm walking down the cereal aisle to pick up some almond milk, uber fab i might add. Vanilla and Chocolate hmmmmm........... Anyway I see this guy looking at cereal with a nature path in his god does he know how much sugar is in that. Its awful! I'm thinking should I say shouldn't I mean its toronto so talking to strangers is weird but its also yorkville and WF so peeps are more friendly here. He's also older like dad age so its not as weird as if it were some young hot guy right? What do I do?

I decide to say something I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight if i didn't. I point out my fav and tell him it has no sugar if your into that. He was super nice and read the back of the box and put it in his cart. Yay!!! Then I see him grab two bags of dried figs. Mon dieu whats the point. Man oh man!!!!!! I tired.

Now I'm leaving the store and I'm carrying this rose I bought for myself for V-day since I told my friend to get me one but she laughed cause she thought I was kidding. She still thinks she getting homemade, sugar-free, whole wheat, bran 85% dark chocolate chip cookies from me. H-no sister. Anyway I'm leaving and I'm holding this rose and one of the employees said to me "that rose is almost as pretty as you". Awww. see what happens when you blow dry your hair, I didn't even have make-up on. It all about the hair. Anyway is was soooo sweet.

Now I'm in line waiting to get my flower wrapped and this guys is walking out of WF. I give him one of those looks like i know you and he gave me a strange look too. In actual fact I remenber seeing him when I was waiting in the check out line b/c he half looked like the guy from the cereal aisle and half like Phil Spector and he was totally rockn' these awesome glasses my bro would love.

Anyway as we both give each other crazy looks at the same time he was like do i know and i'm like did i help you buy cereal? oh jokes I guess not, (me) You look like my friends daughter. I guess it was one of those weird you look like people I know moments.

I mean I guess I could be his friends daughter A if they lived in Vancouver B he dose sort of look like someone my dad would hang out. Who knows and now we'll never know.

Shame.
